A New Life Pt. 3

Bryan?" a blurred voice asked me, "Are you okay?" I tried to put everything in focus to see where I was. "He's awake!" that voice sounds familiar. As my vision cleared I saw Sonic staring down at me with a relieved expression. I asked, "Where am I?" Sonic told me I was in the hospital. "Ugh." I grunt in pain as I sit up. "Easy, easy" Sonic exclaimed, "You'll rip the tubes out if you're not careful!" Confused, I looked at my arms. I had 4 IV's in each of my arms.

"Why does it hurt to breathe?" I ask. "You have 4 broken ribs, 2 cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a shattered nose, a concussion, major blood loss, and your left hand was shattered." The doctor says as he walked in. He checked the machine and wrote something on the clipboard he was carrying. "How are you feeling today Mister Traveler?" the doctor asked. I replied, "I feel like I was run over by a steamroller." "That is perfectly normal for someone with your injuries." He said.

"How long will I be in this hospital doctor?" I ask. The doctor wrote on his clipboard again. "I believe a minimum of 3 weeks," he said, "depending on how you heal." "3 WEEKS!?" I exclaim. The doctor didn't reply. He just wrote on his clipboard yet again. Then he left.

"I don't believe it!" I exclaim, "I haven't been here 12 hours and I'm already in a hospital." "Just how did you get these injuries, Bryan?" Sonic asked. "Some black hedgehog who called himself Shadow, 'The Ultimate Life Form', came out of nowhere and beat the living snot out of me." "WHAT!" Sonic exclaimed. "You know him?" I asked. "Yes, I know him unfortunately." Sonic muttered. I turned to my food tray a nurse brought earlier, and I saw several Get Well cards beside it. "Who made these cards, Sonic?" I asked. "Some friends of mine made those when they heard about that you were here." Sonic replied.

"HE'S AWAKE MOMMY!" a little girl's voice squealed delightfully. My head snapped toward her direction. A little bunny girl was at my bedside. A bunny woman entered and I guessed she was the bunny girls mother. "Are you okay Mister Bryan?" the bunny girl asked. "I'm feeling better." I told her. "My name is Cream," she said, "and this is my mommy." Her mother introduced herself as Vanilla. "Hi there." I reply. I sat up straighter, "ouch!" "Are you hurting badly, man?" I looked towards the doorway, and in walked in a red echidna, "You look better than when I found you." Sonic introduced him, "This is Knuckles the Echidna." "Oh my god, are you alright, Bryan?" Amy Rose came running in all panicky. Tails runs in behind her, "Bryan, we just heard." "Why is everyone acting like I'm gonna die?" I ask. "Your injuries are too much for anybody to handle." Sonic exclaims. "I feel fine," I reply, "though I'm a little sore and it stings when I breathe, other than that I'm fine." Sonic eyed me wearily. "Take it easy on yourself, if you are not careful you could get worse injuries." Sonic says to me as he leaves. Amy goes after him after saying, "Take care, Bryan." The others say their goodbyes and then leave. And so begins my recovery.
